We believe children with complex medical or developmental challenges have the right to enjoy a full and decent family life and to be engaged within a supporting community.

There are medically complex children in our communities who can no longer live with their biological families. For these children Childkind offers foster, adoptive, and host families.

Foster Care

Children are placed into foster care for a variety of reasons – a parent could not handle the child’s complicated healthcare requirements, the child was physical abused by a family member, or the child experienced medical neglect. Regardless of the reason, Childkind will provide skilled family placement for these children.

Respite Services

Childkind provides temporary family care designed for children with special health care needs and developmental disabilities.

Host Homes

Childkind’s Host Home program is a long term placement option for those children with complex health care needs who are aging out of foster care. The Host Home program is designed to ensure that children with complex health or developmental needs, who will always be a dependent upon adult, can remain with their foster families after turning twenty-one, all the while keeping the high level of support services they need.
